Do you need to replace your computer? If so, I can help you with the full process of:

  • Determine what you need
  • Research what is available
  • Match your needs to what is available and get the right machine
  • Secure the right machine
  • Setup the new computer and transfer the data
  • Install all programs
  • Train you to use the new machine if needed

The first part of this process is to determine what you need. Start with the form below so we can determine what you need. After completing the form I will compare this to what is available and provide you with the best options available to fit your needs.

Here are some important points to consider:

Type of computer?

I am a big fan of “Business Class” computers. They are built a lot better than residential-style computers. They often live 5+ years longer than a residential computer and give you a lot less headaches. Therefore I NEVER recommend a residential-style computer

Where should I get my computer?

NEVER buy at a local store such as Best Buy, Staples, etc. ALWAYS buy from TigerDirect.com or NewEgg.com. These are the only retailers that sell business class computers, which per above is all I recommend.

New or used?

Since I only recommend business-class machines, I am a big fan of used or refurbished business-class machines. They have only been used for about 2-3 years and sat in an office. Companies want the tax break so they get rid of them at that time and they still have a lot of life left in them. The cost savings for a refurbished is HUGE. So I am a big fan of a refurb for the past 20 years now!

Warranty?

This is a personal decision for everyone. Some folks are only comfortable with purchasing the additional warranty. That is fine, it’s a personal choice as all new computers come with a 1-year warranty. The refurbs I recommend usually also come with the same 1-year warranty. I have only seen/needed a warranty in 2 cases, but it was nice to have that in those cases.
